Veena Malik ka swayamvar? Yes, you read it right. If sources are to be believed, the channel that is currently airing "Swayamvar – Ratan Ka Rishta", has approached the Pakistani star for their next season.

"The channel is repenting by taking a non-controversial celebrity like Ratan Rajput this time for their show. The low TRPs prove that viewers have are not interested in Ratan's swayamvar," informs a source.

"The channel has now approached controversy queen Veena Mallik for the next season of the show and she has even agreed to give the offer some thought. The talks have started and Veena is quite keen on getting married this year. Whether or not she will be a part of next "Swayamvar" is yet to be decided, but she is the first choice for us," the source continues, adding, "Even mentioning Veena Malik as being interested in participating in the next season of "Swayamvar" will ensure inquisitiveness among the viewers."

Talking about what went wrong with Ratan's swayamvar, the source says, "Ratan selected the boys for her marriage herself. But soon after the show came on air and when people around her expressed their displeasure at her selection, she started stating in her interviews that it was the channel who selected the boys for her. Also, from the first day she seemed quite disinterested in interacting with the boys. The enthusiasm about getting married that Rakhi Sawant and Rahul Mahajan had, is missing in Ratan."

swayamvar 3 -ratan rajput getting 4cr

Scuttlebutt has it that TV actress Ratan Rajput, who shot to fame with daily soap ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo,’ is being paid a whooping amount of Rs 4 crore for her ‘Swayamvar 3 - Ratan Ka Rishta’ on NDTV Imagine.

As quoted by TOI, a little birdie said, “The original deal apparently was of one-and-a-half crores but once Ratan agreed to get married on the show, the value went up.

“She is a wise girl and very practical. Unlike the previous bride and groom, she brings certain respectability to the show.”

Besides, sources claim Ratan to be one of the highest paid on the show so far.

"It's possible that she is the highest paid candidate till now. The channel was having a tough time finding the right candidate for the third season,” added a source.

54,863 proposals for Ratan

Surprisingly, Ratan Rajput received 54,863 proposals, highest as compared with the earlier seasons, for her ‘Swayamvar’. The highest proposals came from Uttar Pradesh, especially Meerut and Lucknow.

Starting from doctors, engineers, businessman to bankers, everyone have sent their profiles to be Ratan’s ideal groom.

Nikhil Madhok, senior director - Marketing and Communications, Imagine TV, said, “The response for the third season - ‘Ratan Ka Rishta’ has been very good.

“We have entries from all over the world and with so many prospective grooms on hand, Ratan has been spoilt for choice. We are confident to find the right match for Ratan.”

Mona Singh to help Ratan

Mona Singh, who of late hosted the reality show ‘Shaadi Teen Crore Ki’ on NDTV Imagine, will be seen helping Ratan Rajput in choosing her groom.

Interestingly, Dolly Bindra will also be featuring on the show as a celebrity guest. Besides, Hiten Tejwani will be hosting the show.

Reportedly, the shooting for the reality show is in full swing in Jaipur, and the show will be on air from the first week of June.
