Mallika and her revealing dress fail to impress at Cannes

Bollywood bombshell Mallika Sherawat has been creating quite a stir after she graced the red carpet at the 64th Cannes Film Festival in a hot, see-through black dress.Mallika’s lace-dress that failed to hide her undergarment was not only in highlights because of its sensuality, but also because the similar dress was adorned by the Playboy magazine model Candice Boucher, in which her goodies were covered with lacey flowers.
Now, the shutterbugs had a delight capturing both the eye-candies and comparisons were drawn between the two.

What was disheartening was that Candice outshined the Bollywood actress and reportedly, made more heads turn than Mallika Sherawat.

“Mallika did wear a revealing outfit with her undergarments quite visible but it was Candice Boucher who walked in minutes before her in a see through gown and the photographers went berserk,” revealed a source.

Even Sachin Joshi, the lead actor of Candice’s upcoming movie ‘Azaan’, confirmed that Mallika lost out on attention after the Playboy model entered.

"Candice's outfit did create a stir because it was quite controversial and many eyebrows were raised,” he said.

Reactions on Mallika’s dress back home
While Mallika did not garner much attention for her so-called creative dress at the Film Festival, even the Indian designers were not too awe-struck by her choice.

Designer Ana Singh said, “It’s too busy and the contraptions to the collar and the bounce on the hips are very unflattering. The entire outfit is unclear, unclean and a mish mash of too many things.”

Fashion designer Rajat Tangri also said that Mallika’s dress was a misfit for the red carpet event, but good for a photo shoot.

Designer Surily Goel said, “It’s a pretty dress, and black suits Mallika, but it would have probably looked better as a plain see-through number.”

She looked really gorgeous with her sun kissed look and accessorized her dress with a Jimmy Choo ‘Cosma’ clutch.

Sonam Kapoor – Sonam Kapoor is at Cannes as the brand ambassador for L’Oreal. She wore a long white satin gown. If she would have worn something more fitted, she would have looked much better. Along with the dress she wore red lipstick which was not at all matching. She accessorized the dress with a Judith Lieber clutch and green coloured earrings by Chopard. Sonam’s dark circles were quite visible which proved that the make up was not at all enough.

Mallika Sherawat - Mallika Sherawat is making her third appearance at the Cannes film festival to promote her latest film, ‘Politics of Love’. The actress chose to don a simple and classy look by wearing a coral coloured dress. The colour looked really nice on her and there was great detailing done on her dress. Ashutosh Gowarikar – Director Ashutosh Gowarikar was present in Cannes just for the pure joy of watching films. He attended the Eat and Dance Indian Party at Cannes Film Festival at Martinez Hotel yesterday. He wore a white short paired with denim jeans. Lucknow HC takes up bikini case as a PIL

An Australian model wearing a bikni with a picture of a Hindu goddess on it has outraged the community.

LUCKNOW/MELBOURNE: Taking suo motu cognisance of newspaper photographs of an Australian model wearing a bikni with a picture of a Hindu goddess on it, the Allahabad high court has decided to take up the matter as a PIL.

A bench comprising justices Devi Prasad Singh and S C Chaurasia directed that the matter be registered as a PIL of criminal nature and fixed the matter for May 10 after three advocates drew the court's attention to the photographs, saying they were intended to insult the religious sentiments of the Hindu community.

Meanwhile, the Australian swimwear company which triggered the controversy apologised to the Hindu community. "We would like to offer an apology to anyone we may have offended and advise that the image of Goddess Laxmi will not appear on any piece of our swimwear for the new season, with a halt put on all production of the new range and piece shown on the runway removed," said a statement.

Soha's works like "Khoya Khoya Chand", "Rang De Basanti" & "Antarmahal" will also be screened during the session.

It's a really humbling experience that i have been chosen by them to speak about Indian Cinema and that my films are also being screened."

About her lecture, Soha discloses, "I have done a thorough research of the cinema we have created over the ages. i have a pretty huge period to cover in my lecture. I will specially talk about how certain actors and actresses who've contributed towards Bollywood in a big way and helped Indian cinema to shape up as it stands today."

She adds, "I will also talk about the actors and the directors ( from both commercial and the art-house genres). Though commercial films might be called brainless films, they are the ones that the masses like and thus cannot be ignored at all."

Ragini MMS", Ekta Kapoor's next, is apparently based on 22-year-old Delhi girl Deepika. Mariah Carey and hubby Nick Cannon have become proud parents of twins. The Hollywood power couple celebrated their third wedding anniversary by becoming parents to a healthy baby girl and a boy.

Carey's representative Cindi Berfer confirmed the twins arrival, saying the surprise delivered at 12:07pm EDT at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles. She said that the baby girl was born first, weighing 2.34Kg and was 18 inches long. and her brother was born next at 2.43Kg and was 19inches long.

A royal spokesperson confirmed: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen not to depart for a honeymoon immediately. Instead, after spending the weekend privately in the United Kingdom, the Duke will return to work as a search-and-rescue pilot next week.

“The locations of both their private weekend before the Duke returns to work and their future honeymoon, which will be overseas, will not be disclosed in advance.”

Meanwhile, further details of the couple’s wedding reception have emerged, including the revelation that William and Kate had their first dance to a live rendition of Sir Elton John’s classic hit ‘Your Song’, which was performed for them by Ellie Goulding.

A source said: “It was a clear yet subtle nod to William’s mother Princess Diana because she loved that song and William knew that.

“Elton is also very important to William because of his role at Diana’s funeral.

Shatrughan Sinha to host bhojpuri KBC

Shatrughan Sinha is set to host the Bhojpuri edition of popular quiz show "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC), and daughter Sonakshi Sinha will be one of those on the hot seat. He also plans to invite Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan to the show.

"Yes, Sonakshi is going to be on the hot seat in front of me. Audiences will finally get to see us baap-beti together on screen," said Shatrughan Sinha. The episode will be recorded in Kolkata early next month as soon as Sonakshi finds the time fly down.

"Sonakshi should not expect any easy questions just because she's my daughter. You'll be surprised to know she took the initiative of being on my show. She asked me if she could participate. I happily agreed. She's an intelligent girl. I know she'll conduct herself well," added the actor-politician.

Said Sonakshi: "It will be great! I love the show. Although I don't speak Bhojpuri, I can understand it. It would be fun to be quizzed by dad."

The Bhojpuri KBC is being shot in Kolkata. Shatrughan Sinha's first guest is Bharatiya Janata Party leader Yashwant Sinha.

"Sonakshi will follow. From the film industry, I'll also invite Salman Khan to be on the hotseat," said Sinha who is also very keen to invite Amitabh Bachchan, who hosted the Hindi KBC, on the show.

"Mr Bachchan has hosted the Hindi KBC. Having him on my Bhojpuri KBC makes perfect sense. I'll invite him personally. I am sure he will agree," he said.

"The differences between us is a thing of the past. When you have two vessels on the same shelf they are bound create a clutter of noises. I've always wished him and his family all the best. I treat Abhishek like my own son. I was so thrilled to know he was so much at home in Patna when he visited recently," he added.

Sinha says his Bhojpuri language is not in perfect shape.

"Strange because my mother spoke to us brothers in Bhojpuri. But at the most, my command over the language is functional. I'm brushing it up for KBC. It isn't difficult. Unlike Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, which are completely separate from one another Bhojpuri has direct links with Hindi. So mastering Bhojpuri is no problem."

"It will have a huge interest value. The Bhojpuri belt is really large. It will also do good to my image as a politician."

The KBC show is also being presented in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Bengali versions. They are being produced by Big Synergy Adlabs. For Tamil, the presenter will be Prakash Raj, Miloo Yavaru Kodeeswarudu for Telugu, Ramesh Arvind for Kannada and Sourav Ganguly for the Bengali version.

Scuttlebutt has it that TV actress Ratan Rajput, who shot to fame with daily soap ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo,’ is being paid a whooping amount of Rs 4 crore for her ‘Swayamvar 3 - Ratan Ka Rishta’ on NDTV Imagine.
