New Delhi: South Indian actor Leena Maria Paul was arrested at a lodge here for allegedly cheating a bank of Rs 19 million rupees, police said Tuesday.
Paul, 25, lived with his male friend, Balaji, also charged in the case. They leak.
A joint operation by Delhi Police and Chennai Police took Paul to Fatehpurberi farmhouse in south Delhi on Monday night.
According to police, Balaji had approached Canara Bank in Chennai posing as an IAS officer and obtained a loan of Rs.19 crore sanctioned using false documents, on the pretext of starting a business. The couple was also wanted in two other cases in Chennai. "They came to Delhi and started living here in the house a month ago," said an official
